Important Tips for Medical Practitioners

• This is not an HA filler—the technique differs: Ellanse is a biostimulatory filler. It requires placement in the deep dermal, subcutaneous, or supraperiosteal plane.  It must never be injected superficially (e.g., lips, fine lines, tear troughs) due to the risk of nodules and visibility.

• Precise, Bolus-First Technique is Recommended: The gold-standard technique involves depositing small, precise boluses (0.1-0.3 ml) directly on bone or in deep subcutaneous tissue. These boluses can then be gently fanned or feathered for blending. Avoid linear threading in the mid-to-superficial dermis.

• Understand the Metabolic Timeline: The gel carrier is absorbed within 1-3 months, during which time collagen stimulation is most active. Patients may perceive initial volume softening—this is normal and part of the transition to collagen-based volume.  Counsel patients thoroughly on this expected evolution.

• Product Selection is Key: Choose Ellanse S for patients new to biostimulators, for more subtle augmentation, or when a shorter treatment cycle is desired. Choose Ellanse M for patients seeking maximal longevity, with more significant volume loss, and who understand the longer commitment.

• Special Considerations for Safety & Reversibility: Ellanse is not reversible with hyaluronidase. While rare, complications like persistent nodules or inflammatory reactions may require intralesional steroid injections or surgical excision.
